What a wonderful TR. Thanks for the writing and photography (and, as Darren said, the explanations of some of the photography).

I ran into mosquitoes like that in the Wind River Range in Wyoming several years ago -- diving into the tent just to eat in peace!

Thanks for the fine TR and photos, Tim and Darth. When we were studying the lateral moraines on Mount Rainier three weeks ago, the mosquitos there also were as voracious as any I can remember. It has been an especially dry and hot spring/summer in the Cascades, so I would have thought that the those conditions might have stunted the mosquito population, but apparently not.
