trails: cherry mountain trail
conditions: parking off of 115 is accessible though a little rough to get up into. the trail was packed and frozen hard with up to a couple inches of drifted in powder up high. a few spots in the open down low are nearly melted out. the last couple tenths were snowmobile packed with a bit of drifted snow on top.
equipment: i carried snowshoes, but ended up in microspikes the whole hike. as snow softens snowshoes could be nice.
comments: felt a lot like winter this morning with cold temps and blowing snow above the notch. skies cleared up and the views from the summit were spectacular. despite driving by it more times than i can count this was my first time on cherry. real nice.
