Cliff, red field attempt Marcy gray skylight

Spent the night at the Adirondack Lodge on Wednesday headed out early Saturday morning At about 6 AM. Temperatures were somewhat cool early in the am. Trail to Marcy dam was unremarkable. Ascended feldspar Brook Trail This trail was wet and muddy, And had light snow as the elevation gained. Set up tents near feldspar leanto. Ascended mount redfireld first conditions were very muddy with lots of flowing water. This is roughly 2.2 miles from the campsite Round-trip. After this one headed to cliff Mountain as the conditions were Deteriorating rapidly. Snow was starting to fall and the temperatures were dropping. Cliff trail very muddy. Descended in near white out conditions. Back to camp. Winds sustained at 40mph with gusts to 60. Awoke with 3-4 inches of snow and wet gear. Conditions were only going to get worse 18 degrees projected for the night. Had to bail on Marcy gray and skylight. Until next time We remain 43ers Peter,Matt, bob.

Warning: many mice in feldspar leanto. Met a few guys who slept in leanto. Only to be awoken with mice running across there face, And ate hole in there jacket. HANTAVIRUS IS A REAL THREAT IN THIS AREA.
