I live on Main St. Plymouth and I saw a large maple branch fall on my friends small saab and smash the back window and bend the frame. Same car maybe?Pretty crazy wind and I'll agree with BRING ON THE COLD.

It has dropped from about 50F this morning in Franconia to under 20F now. I just did the I-93 run up the state from MHT to Franconia. The predicted 50 mph winds with gust to 70 mph have not materialized, more like 30 mph with 50 mph gusts. Traffic lights out in Concord, lots of trees and branches down here, of course. But there's still power.

Plymouth NH had a wind gust to 52 miles per hour! Trees are down everywhere, and my friend just called and told me that a tree fell onto a car right next to his and destroyed it. We had a thunderstorm along with it! Wild stuff! -Mattl

A pole on my street snapped in half so were done for tonite for sure here in Whitefield NH

Not to mention trees down everywhere. I'll have lot's of firewood next year.

In theory, NiMH rechargables should be ok to around -20F (-30C), so they might still be ok. I'd certainly carry Lithium spares.

Never leave home without them.

Crazy here in Mtl. 60 vehicle collision, truck blown over, windows blown right out of buildings and smashing on the road below, power outages.
The wind has calmed down some though now.

we want to get a hike in somehow tomorrow afternoon so maybe a low one like Arthusa or Martha...I don't think winds will lay down till tomorrow nite.

We just found out that my wife's friend was killed in Rochester today from a tree toppling over on her car. My wife is making plans now to head up there. This is just awful.

I heard that on the news tonight. Sorry to hear such a tragedy!

The winds high, here, too today. Two tractor trailers flipped over, fortunately no one injured. Trees down, the roof blew off a business here and private home as well. Every where you looked, you could see the damage. We had a few shingles blow off the roof and a shutter. Not bad after seeing and hearing the other tragedies.

The news claimed Whiteface had winds of 68 MPH.
