Hiked Colden from the ADK Log. Ascent via Avalanche Pass/Lake Colden. Descent via Lake Arnold.
The trails from the Log to Avalance Pass were wet in spots, but not much mud to deal with. We encountered a bit of snow and ice in Avalance Pass that was easily barebootable. The ascent up Colden from Lake Colden had a fair amount of running water and some occassional bits of snow.
The descent down Colden to Lake Arnold had quite a bit more snow and ice. There were a lot of snow bridges - some held up our weight while others didn't. The snow began dwindling as we approached Lake Arnold and was only spotty from there back to Marcy Dam. All trails were blow-down free.
