Hiked from South Meadow up through Avalanche pass and along the shores of Colden before heading up the trail on the south side. A lot of the steep rocky slabs on the climb up were soaking wet which was not unexpected after the heavy rains Saturday night. A few deep muddy spots near the summit but mostly easy to avoid. Good breeze on the summit kept the flies at bay. Took the trail down to Lake Arnold and then back to Marcy dam and out.
The trails have been well cleared of blowdown this spring and was recently brushed back with lots of small pine limbs on the trail - many thanks to the trail crews.
