Via Lake Road - shortcut- Elk Pass - back to Lake Road
Trail Conditions: Lake Road to Colvin is hard packed and broken by 20+ people. Word of mouth is trial from Colvin-Blake also broken, but not as hard packed.
Colvin to Nippletop freshly broken, and path still soft. About 6'' of crunchy snow has been broken though, with some 1 foot drifts. Nippletop to Dial also freshly broken, with same snow conditions.
Dial to Lake Road broken by many people. Hard pack with clear path.
Very little ice on entire loop, only in a few sections.
Special Equipment Required: Microspikes might be nice at this point, though snowshoes are required. On trail from col between Colvin and Elk Pass, to Dial, snowshoes would be strongly suggested.
Comments: Nothing out of the ordinary. See trip report for further details.
