It's odd that the incident occurred on February 17 and the article was dated March 16.

I saw three climbers sitting in the hiking trail at the top of the dike yesterday. Of course, we had the thaw and rain last week.

I believe this is the same incident that was posted in NY Q and A by Blackspruce shortly after it happened.
