South face mostly ice free, but still snow below cliffs and in shady areas. some ice and snow on first plateau (between small ladder and longer summit ladder). From summit to pond quite icy and slipppery. used crampons and was glad i had them. pond still has ice, but breaking up fast.
equipment required:
no snowshoes necessary for ascent to summit, but stabilicers or other traction aid helpful if descending to pond from summit. waterproof boots and gaiters highly recommended.
