CVR is easy drive up to the metal bridge .5mi from AT crossing. Tricky washout past that, then a bridge that's difficult with low clearance. Drove Focus all the way to the AT but took some engineering at that bridge and fancy side-to-side after. Past AT crossing road in very bad shape for a bit, then highly variable. On the walkout, passed a Jeep with a destroyed tire about a mile in from the AT--don't count on getting very far even with high clearance and 4WD!
AT over the Crockers in fine shape, some damp (but not too soggy) patches and pretty narrow at points--lots of tree branches brushing. One turn poorly marked--up the slide out of Crocker Cirque.
Herd path from S. Crocker to Redington fairly easy to start, some trickiness to following it but not bad. Fairly thick. Path we took dropped down the west side of the ridge, quite low, and flagging-taped to death. Ends at road over Redington-Crocker col; very easy herd path leads from height-of-land to summit, joining trail below summit. Returned via route from 4000-footer committee website (which uses this trail), very easy to follow and cairns throughout.
