Trail Conditions: Log road to bushwhack was a well worn path. Bushwhack to ridge mostly through open woods and ferns, with intermittent herd paths. Bushwhack from ridge to summit mostly on herd paths. Had to whack through a couple of spots on ridge, but found a well worn path at about 3,500 feet which took us right to the canister. Driving was easy, if you know where you're going. Morton Cutoff, Burnt Mt. Road and East Branch Road (not Little East Branch Road) were all in good condition. Low ground clearance vehicles can easily do this route with a little care.

Special Conditions Required: Navigation equipment, long pants, hat or sunscreen .

Comments: Pretty easy bushwhack on a glorious warm and sunny day. Said prayer on summit for my late, great friend, Ray Loring. The hike featured lots of partial views of Western Maine wilderness. Only one or two spots had any degree of whacking difficulty. Saw another pair of Hundred Highest Hikers on the trail who had come up from the Wiggle Brook Rd. approach. Please note that the Burnt Mt. Rd. and Wiggle Brook Rd. herd paths intersect at a junction with a moose antler and bone up on a tree. When descending, Wiggle Brook herd path goes left and Burnt Mt. herd path goes right. Great to hike again with Double Bow :) Cupsuptic Snow is #98/100 for Double Bow and #91/100 for me.
