Any recent experience on the Davis Path? I'm interested in the section between Resolution and Isolation.

I assume it may be relatively clear due to the exposure it has and being situated mainly on the west side of the Montalban Ridge - but that may be a bad assumption.

Any current information on this section would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Earl

We were on the Davis Path yestersday. We came in from Mt Langton Trail over Parker, Resolution and came down the Davis Path. It was really wet in alot of spots and patches of deep soft snow.

After leaving Mt Parker heading to Resolution we hit mostly deep snow on the trail over to Davis Path. Someone had come in and post-holed all the way. We broke through quite often.

Hope this helps.

Back in early May of 06, I took the Davis Path to Stairs Mtn. The trail was pretty much snow free till I got towards Resolution, where there were patches off trail, and then when I hit the spur path for Stairs, there was a solid snow pack if I had continued on the Davis Path. It looked to be about 18-24 inches deep. If you remember, 2006 was a relatively light winter for snow. So I assume that there is still snow up there now. I'd bring snowshoes.

Thanks Darlene. I'll bet you were with Blaze(?).

Earl, nope....another hiker in our arena of hikers.

It was a fun hike and the weather was perfect, if not a little warm for the start. Was sweet to come out after dusk and no bugs,,,,,,,,,,,,,

In sections, snowshoes would of helped, other sections would of been tough. Piles of snow were crowned up and deep. Then it would be rocks for a little and back into the deep snow.
