What a perfect day!
This south-facing trail still has plenty of melting snow, a couple feet toward the top third of the mountain. I bare-booted, but I would recommend small snowshoes. It would have been much better traveling.
It was warm enough for shorts and T-shirt the whole day. A mosquito landed on my arm. Due to ecxitement for spring, he was admired and granted clemency. I don't think they bite this early anyway.
This is a great trail, with nice views long before the summit. The summit has one of the best views of the Southern Presidentials, IMHO.
It was about 2 hours to the first open ledge, about 2.5 hours to the summit.
Be careful to not miss the spur trail that leaves the Davis Path for the summit. The spur path is about 5 or 10 minutes after the first open ledge.
