Trails: Davis Path to spur path to Mt. Crawford
Trail Conditions: Very soft snow with a semi-hard narrow "monorail" in the middle of the trail. Postholing even with snowshoes on. First stream crossing a little tricky but very doable with waterproof boots. There were some areas of bare trail down low, and also some bare rock ledge near the summit.
Special Equipment: Snowshoes, snowshoes, snowshoes. Also, waterproof boots and a sense of humor.
Comments: Did I mention snowshoes? Don't even think of hiking this trail without them, unless you enjoy postholing up to your hips. The snow conditions kept us hiking at no more than 1 mile per hour.
