Greetings,

All the years I've been hiking in the Whites my hiking has been pretty much restricted to the Kanc and Waterville Valley areas. I will be taking my family up this Columbus Day weekend and I'm staying in Randolph (Jefferson Notch cabins to be exact), does anybody have a favorite trail in that area that can take up a full day of hiking? I've got Steve Smith's AMC Guide and it sure is helpful but I like to hear from some VFTTers as to what they suggest.

As always thanks.

Howker Ridge to Madison
Airline to Adams
King Ravine to Adams
Castillated Ridge to Jefferson
Castle Ravine to Jefferson

Loops involving any and all of the above.

Something less strenuous (with better footing) and equally good views would be up Ammo Ravine and down Edmands, then you a nice relatively flat road walk through the woods back to the cog station of only a mile or so. You could get there quickly via Jefferson Notch road which is kinda cool in and of itself.
