wondering about the location of designated wilderness campsites in the dry river/montalban ridge area, particularly any that might be on the davis path in the vicinity of mt isolation. haven't been out there before, but plan on heading out soon and have heard that some sites exist. also, any info. on available water sources on the davis path would be helpful as well. i've heard it can be quite dry.
many thanks.

There is a designated campsite just north of Mt. Isolation about 50 yards before you reach the Isolation East Trail. There is a large root of a tree that will mark the entrance along with a camping sign. As for water, if you continue along the Isolation East Trail for about 10 to 15 minutes you will run into a small stream. There is also water on the Isolation West Trail a little farther down.

As of last year, that entrance to the campsite was incredibly difficult to navigate. Much easier to head a little further to the Isolation Trail, head down it about 2 minutes, and there's the backside of the campsite on your right in open woods.

The area looks like this , only without the annoyed, stoic friend standing there...
:D
