Started from Elk Lake trailhead early. Slide was still a little damp from the morning dew but not slippery on the rocks at all. Trails on the top are in great shape with all the blowdown cleared and easy to follow. Very little mud to speak of anywhere made for fast progress. Black flies came out around noon on the summit of Hough but they didn't seem too bad. All in all a great day in the Dixes with almost unlimited views.
