1/6 (we hiked it) 1/8 (saw conditions some more)
Trail Conditions: Completely broken by 4 groups over 2 days. Hard pack all the way to the Beckhorn. Beckhorn rocky but very little ice. In between Beckhorn and Dix summit DEEP SNOW (even though it's pretty well packed down).
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes-essential. Don't leave them on the Beckhorn, you will need them afterward. Crampons-not necessary.
Comments: It snowed lightly this morning and afternoon, so there might be a little accumulation. Otherwise, though, the trail is well broken. Hunters pass trail not broken at all.
