I have a Lab/Australian Cattle mix who absolutely loves to hike. We hike Waterville area about 3x/week. I have been thinking about getting a emergency carrier just in case. Any suggestions on brand / style? Has anyone try to make one out of old gear and perhaps utilizing cargo netting?

I carry the mountain-dogware pack a paw rescue sling. It's works well, but it's kind of challenging to rig up. I plan on ordering the Fido Pro K9 sling as it is easier to rig up and easier to get your dog in. These two are considered the go to rescue slings

We got a pack-a-paw from Mountain Dogware for our Cattle-dog/Corgi mix. Never had to use it, but it was relatively easy to set up and get him in it the few times I tested it. He was not amused (see below) but it gave me a lot of peace of mind in his last years. If I recall correctly, it was also slightly lighter than the other option I was looking at (Fido Pro?).
