Very excited by the fact that we will reach 40 in our list of the 46, it is the state which we had today at the beginning of our hike. :)
Having slept in a motel at Tupper lake we arrived at the parking at 6.00h. It still dark and we are ready to leave for Seward's Range at 6.15h. Beside my car somebody forgot to close his interior light in is vehicle. I hope he will not have a difficulty in start is Honda Pilot.
The first part is rather easy and we reach the intersection of Herdpath 1.15h later. The following portion before arriving at Donaldson summit is also easy but there are 2 places where there is mud. I notice several other places could be muddy also but the mud has dried. I think we are lucky, because I had read some stories about the mud that hikers met recently. The brooks are dry and somes have only a small filament of water, because of the dry time which we had. We did not find the marker on Donaldson, and we were 4 to try to find it at several places, but without success. We continu our trip towards to Emmons. As we leaving Donaldson, and not too far, we had the biggest mud portion met today. But if you keep the right it is easy to negotiate.
On Emmons summit no view at all but a summit marker. We stayed there for half hour to have our lunch and chat with other hikers.
After we got back to Donaldson to go towards Seward, we try to find the path. While going up towards to Donaldson we did not see the small cairn which marks the begining of the path towards to Seward. It is not far from the summit an it is against a tree, not easy to see it. There is a pink ribbon on a tree right in from of the path, now. The portion which is close to the summit is on a rock portion which is completely different with the type of path met today. Arrived at the summit we are very happy and very excited to had reached the #40. We go back just before the summit on a big rock we ate and rest. It is the best view we had today. At that time we start to get tired. From Donaldson to the parking it was hard, because we were tired. We arrived after 12.00h, happy of our accomplishment of the day.

I can say now that Annie does not appreciate the type of path that we had today. The very tight path, she dont like. The Seward path arrives second after Couchsachraga for the ones she dont like.

And now what's next, Haystack, Basin, Allen, Seymour, Marshall and Dix
