Canton, NY. Avatar: Mt. Washington in Winter:
Conditions similar to those reported 2 days ago. Yesterday's and last night's snow amounted to about 3" at the most, except for the 6 inch drifts  on the summit ridge, so everything HockeyPuck described was under that much powder.
Snow shoes not needed. Crust was very supportive. I went 20' off the trail at low elevation to see if I'd break through, and didn't. At the summit I went looking for views 2x, and one of those times I postholed once.
Crampons needed. On one steep rock section, there was very little snow or ice on the rock, and I don't know if stabilicers would have worked. Keeping off to the side would have worked.
The two stream crossings very near the beginning were a bit tense, but the snow on the stepping stones didn't seem to have much ice underneath.
Nobody else on trail. Great day. More breeze in the notch with Greeley Ponds than on the summit. I walked by the summit cairn a few steps before noticing the strange snow form. I dusted it all off for the next person.
