Date of Hike: Thur. 01-21-10
Trails: Greeley Pond Tr., Osceola Tr.
Soft and loose snow with firm base. Hiked with Hiker Ed, Guy Jubinville, Mark Tuckerman (Silverfox) and Tim today. Most of us wore snow shoeshoes all the way to Osceola summit. Some switched to crampons at the Chimney. Footing was fairly good but slick due to the loose snow. We wore crampons from the chimney coming back until we were at the bottom of the steeps. Mark and Tim headed over the summit to Tripoli Rd. Trail is fairly well packed now. There are a few blowdowns. Water crossings were no problem.
Sunny, with some breezes today. Temps in the low twenties. Nice to meet up with Aaron Donovan again.
