Long hike, short story:
Started at 9:30 from Rider Hollow. Trail broken nicely to Balsam-Haynes Col. After this we turned South to Eagle, and we were re-breaking trail after one or 2 people had been there a few days before. 4-10" of new snow, depending on the wind, etc. If you fall off the snow spine, make that 2' or more! Up and over Haynes, and down and up to Eagle, with the quick side trip to the true summit.
Met CK and MB on the way down, and again on the way down Balsam, which we ran over and did once back at the col. COLD today, with blue skies and almost no wind. Moderate butt sliding with the spoons heading down from the col! Done at 4:30.
