tr. conditions;greeley ponds smooth sailing, crossings easy and mostly iced over.trail was packed down nice for bareboots or snowshoes[best choice].mt osceola trail was nice down low and then slighty nasty at the steeps due to butt sliders[yes you, the two youngsters!:)]
spec. equipment;snowshoes and crampons at the steeps.saw around 8 people, all had crampons except the sliders who had micros, that were not working well i.m.h.o
comments;first snowshoe up north this winter, legs were on fire[shame on me].Nice hike with mountain 49,thanks for putting up with me the slowpoke.late start and me going slow led to us bailing on Osceola.2cd time up this trail which is"extremely steep and rough",amc guide 98.Very happy with new garmont gtx snow boots.Took ski trail back for one mile to kanc, just to check it out.ski trail track not ideal for snowshoes or barebooters.saw dude one day hike with 50-60 pound pack, ouch!nice guy though.Very picturesque day..
