Trail Condtions: a bit of mud in the first 100 yards of col trail ..one stretch in deep pines where you had to cross about 20 feet of old snow..other than that.. Ridge Trail dry footing throughout..a trace of snow here and there in the woods.. East Rattlesnake on the descent had lots of oak leaves.. very slippery...I was looking for my 10 points

Comments: A couple of weeks ago I was following the contours here on snowshoes on 3 feet of snow...amazing metamorphis..a few wildflowers here and there..very dry conditions most of the way...a small cloud of black flies dogged me for a 1/4 mile or so..excellent views..the ice if about 1/2 off Squam...As an added noted..trail head parking lot for Morgan still blocked off..lots of space on side of roads now that snowbanks are gone
