Trail conditions were excellent except for some moose postholing after the Mizpah cutoff that went on for about a half mile with a couple of piles of moose droppings. From Pierce to Eisenhower the conditions were as good as they get with the usual exposed windblown spots and soft powder in the trees. From Pierce to Mizpah there was about 8 inches of fresh powder with one set of tracks coming up. From Mizpah back to Crawford Path it was untracked powder with more moose postholing. This is now well packed out.

I barebooted Crawford Path until above Mizpah cutoff were there was some drifting and then kept the snowshoes on until I returned back to Crawford Path.

I could not believe the perfect weather on this hike. There were low clouds everywhere except on the Presidentials. I could see Lincoln and Lafayette and a few other peaks poking through the clouds.
