Easy walk from Base Road to trailhead in bare boots. No visible, earlier tracks up Edmands Path but easy to stay on top of the frozen base (plus 3" new snow) with snowshoes. Switched to crampons on the long side-hill section that leads to the col; 6" of new powder on the upper mountain. Three south-bound hikers on Crawford path descended Edmands today, as did I, so the trail is reasonably well broken.

No significant blowdowns or difficult stream crossings.

Winds on Eisenhower's summit dome were very high, and over the last 1/4 mile it was an effort simply to stand up. Hand-held anemometer reported a wind chill of -27F.
