nice day in the valley with great foliage. peak looked like it was clouded in but we went for it anyway. parking at 1300. summit 3860. elevation gain 2560. trip up 2.25, down 2.10 . blue summit trail all the way. easy to follow and well marked. side trails intersect in the lower section, but all marked. first 3/4 mile is nice and gradual. when trail takes a sharp left, it is all uphill from there. at about 3600 ft there is a trail on the right that goes to lookout rock if you wish to do so. stay on main trail for summit. when you get to the cell tower, just past it on the left, the main trail goes to summit. brand new summit building was open although still some construction still going on. we had limited views as the clouds would occasionally break. nice trail, nice hike.
for trail head, took rt 7a south out of manchester center for about a mile. take right on seminary ave. school will be on right and rd turns into proctor rd. take first right on west union. park in first lot. second lot gets locked later in day. walk to second lot and trail head starts in second lot in left front corner.
