Date of Hike: July 5, 2009
Trail Conditions: Took the Wilmington Trail to Esther and Whiteface. Very muddy after junction with trail to ASRC. Early winds kept the flies at bay in the morning. As long as you keep moving flies were not a disturbance.
Hiking poles - useful to cross standing water areas.
Unmarked trail to Esther is well defined (and muddy). Travel time was 10hrs.
