Date of Hike:

Trail Conditions: We broke trail all the way. 6 others made it part of the way afterward packing the trail nicely. Amount of snow varied from around a foot and a half at bottom up to 4 feet in some spots where evergreens trapped the snow on Lookout mountain.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes all the way and good warm clothes including spare gloves, fill your water bottles with hot water & bring food easily eadible when frozen.

Comments: It took Daniel & I seven and half hours. We took 4 or 5 ten minute breaks, short breaks kept our warmth during this day of single digit temperature (-18 to -13 C). Not a single cloud in this deep blue sky except the condensation above lake Champlain. Evergreens full of snow, birchs ladden with crystals above 3200 ft (1000 meters). Cold air offers the best and farthest visibility, outstanding scenery!
