Broke out Ethan Pond Trail to junction of the broken Mt. Willey trail, and then 1/4 of the way to Ethan Pond.
Snowshoes helpful (and necessary for the drifts beyond) - but this section of trail should be consolidated enough to bareboot for most people until conditions change.
The section by the Kendron Flume junction was a lovely walk through birch, beech and evergreens. Very pretty.
No whistle-pig sightings. Will try again next year.
