Everett Moore Baker Plaque on Greenleaf Trail

On a hike up Mt Layafette this weekend this plaque caught my eye just off to the right of the Greenleaf Trail about 0.2 miles from the summit. Some googling around found Everett was the Dean of Students at MIT but I could find no reference to what his connection was to this trail/mountain. Does anyone have any insight into this memorial plaque?

Do you mean .2 from the Greenleaf Hut?

I believe it was .2 miles from the summit. I'm guessing a bit as I'm looking at my GPS track and it looks like I wandered off trail at this point. I should have set a waypoint then I would have known for sure.
