First effort with the new camera. Not sure how large an image this will end up here. Just learning how to resize and this may come out too small.

Now that I see the posted image, can anyone advise on how to both increase the size and have it appear in the thread instead of as a link?

First off, I like the shot!

As for posting. I usually host on a third party site, like webshots or flickr. On that site, you can find the direct link to the photo itself. From there, I just use the 'insert image' icon on the posting page at VFTT, and drop that direct file link into it. Good luck...

That really says 'autumn in northern New England'! Let us know if you still need help with hosting/posting images. I tend to need hand-holding type directions  , so once I learn something I can impart easy-to-follow instructions.

The 'Keene' in the rather bleak picture is the cemetery outside of Keene, NY, in the High Peaks and looking at Blueberry and Porter Mtns.

I've driven by the cemetery hundreds of times and its up on a little knoll right off the road. I was on my way back from Lake Placid on a biz trip, and wished I'd had a few more minutes to explore it. Many of the gravestones are from the 1800's and early 1900's and many of the names are familiar to ADKers.

Doug Paul's post is spot-on I'm sure, but is over my head. ;)
I did sign up on the EasyShares site and will try and follow that advice by posting as well as downloading a program called Resizr that may work as well.
I got the picture shrunk to size on my first venture into Photoshop and will be doing more with this program. Still have to try to upload a picture directly into a post.

Thanks

There is an example near the bottom of the page.

Eg:

(img)http://link_to_jpg(/img)

Substitute open and close square brackets for open and close parens.
