Trail Conditions: Flume Slide trail was brokedn out very well to the start of the steep section. From a report below it sounds like 4 people were on it yesterday, but once the trail started getting steep there tracks were all but filled in from overnight drifting. Snow bridges across the streams are gone at this point.

The snow going up the actual slide was very deep and soft in the sunshine. Strenous hike up this section. From Flume to Liberty is well packed but very narrow in spots.

Special Equipment Required: A light pack! Most of us bare booted the entire day - 2 put on snowshoes for the descent from Liberty. Poles were needed and useful - carried ice axes just in case - hope they enjoyed the ride on our packs. Only wind was on top of Flume.

Comments: Just an awesome day - views were wonderful - not a cloud to be seen anywhere in the Whites. Just as we completed the hike up the Slide 4 or 5 others caught us, so the trail should be very well packed out now. Started out just before 9 - summited Flume at 1:45 - Liberty at 3 - back at car a little before 5.
