We hiked Flume Slide Trail to the top of Flume, then we went over to Liberty through the col. The Flume Slide Trail was wet and slippery as expected at this time of year. There was a good amount of snow in the col between Liberty and Flume. If you balance on top of the monorail, the hiking is easy, but you'll post hole up to your crotch if you fall off in some places! There's also snow for about a mile from the woods near the summit of Liberty past the Liberty Springs Tent Site. It slows you down, but it's passable.
Special equipment: crampons would have made balancing on top of the snow monrail easier. We also used trekking poles on all snowy sections.
All in all, a great sunny day in the woods!
