All trails were hard as a rock this morning. Osseo Trail was nice and solid all the way to the summit of Flume. I wore my spikes up to the ladders and then switched to Crampons and kept them on to the summit and back down below the ladders. Traction was needed today. I couldn't even put a dent in the snow with a bareboot. Ladders were still snow covered but were no problem. Three small walkover blowdowns on the high ridge. Switched to snowshoes at about 2500 ft on the way down due to the sun softening the snow. What a day in the Whites. It couldn't get any better than today. I met Buddy "Camper 58" on the mountain while I was coming down. Four other people at the bottom on the Osseo, but they said they weren't going far. Didn't see any tracks coming over from Liberty, but it was early (10:30) when I was on the summit.
