Trail Conditions: Lincoln Woods was hard packed and icy. Osseo was choppy for a few at the bottom, but smoothed out nicely until the ladders. Hard packed snowshoe track until here. Ladders are covered with hard pack and some powder with steps kicked in. Spikes worked fine. Drifting above on the ridge could warrant snow shoes, however there is a narrow slick side hill "no fall zone" nearing the top that may be tricky in shoes. One easy walk-through blow down. Flume slide looked untouched and untracked.

Special Equipment Required: I wore spikes car to car. Almost put snowshoes on on the ridge, but would have been taking them back off in a short distance. Crampons would work well on the ladders and short summit push, if you wanted to take the time to put them on.

Comments: Great day on the ridge. Very little breeze and warm. Sun poking through now and then. Unexpected from checking the forecasts. If not for time constraints and an expected crappy ride home, would have went on to Liberty. Saw no one the entire hike in (other than the US Forrest Ranger taking pictures of cars in the parking lot at LW at 8:00am) and about 30 people on the way out at 1:00. All in bare boots or spikes. Odd tracks on LW trail, almost looks like someone rode a motorcycle down the trail?
