Trail Conditions: Quite varied today.. Icy ledges around the Agonys had us don microspikes at that point which we left on until the descent of Lafayette. Mix of sheet ice and packed snow to the hut. Some extensive flow ice above the hut for a bit turned to a mix of conditions above treeline. The Ridge barebootable to Little Haystack with a few sketchy avoidable spots. Packed snow and ice over towards Liberty and I left spikes on through the ladders descent where we enjoyed the soft trailbed out to Lincoln Woods

Equipment: light traction needed..spikes were adequate . 30 degrees with 25 mph wind on summits so wind protection etc needed

Comments: glorious day out with extensive undercast in all directions . The views were spectacular all day with the presis in the clear way to the east. Cloud rivers swirled around the pemi and blocked Owls Head from view for quite some time..Mixed footing but no particular issues..Excellent!!!!!

Mark, it sure sounds like you had a wonderful adventure up on the Franconia Ridge. Your photos with the undercast conditions must be awesome. Sorry I can't currently view your pics since there seems there is a permission issue which I'm sure you'll soon resolve.

Nice undercast, and great photos! I was across the way on North Kinsman Sunday, unfortunately inside the 'cast... great day to be out, though! :)

We took a short jaunt to Lonesome Lake Hut and had one brief view of Franconia Ridge, which made me wish I was there. Thanks for putting up the photos, sharing what we missed, though we had fun, too.
