October 17 - Bridle Path to Franconia Ridge Trail to Falling Waters
Conditions - As mentioned by Rainman, snow/ice conditions now appearing below the hut. Some frozen runoff on trail just beyond the hut. Foot-deep power in places on ridge. Snow/ice on Falling Waters Trail held out significantly longer/lower and more slippery than on Bridle Path.
Comments - I put Microspikes on at the hut and kept them on until the waterfalls. People without traction had to take great care. It was a beautiful day to be on the ridge. I hiked in a tee-shirt except for breaks. No wind - so quiet I could hear the ringing in my ears. I was hiking solo but not alone - lot's of company from our neighbors to the north.
