I got inspired by Tim Seaver's Shot in the Dark thread so I headed out after dark with my camera. Right up the road from me are Koko Crater (dead volcano) and the local high school football field. The stadium lights plus a 25 second exposure yields a lit up volcano. I didn't plan on the plane, but I like it....it gives the photo a Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind feel.

The glare from the lights ruins the shot though. I might go back sometime and try to rig up some kind of shield.

Cool shot, glare or not! And the plane definitely adds to it, especially as the direction of travel matches the clouds streaking by.

How long did it take you to calculate the length of the star streaks?
;)
