Trail muddy in many spots, lots of messy woods (overturned trees/blowdowns) on the reroute and just below the summit - all old.
No special equipment needed.
It was buggy at the summit, just below the hut and at the car but otherwise tolerable (I didn't use anything to repel). The reroute completed in 2011 eliminated two significant water crossings. Now there are just a bunch of small ones and a bridge here and there.
