Trails: Gale River Road & Garfield Trail

Conditions: light / thin snow cover to the switchbacks, then a packed snow (just enough so snowshoes seemed to help out) to the summit; can be done by barebooting without creating postholes

Equipment: snowshoes, microspikes, poles

Comments: Terrific views of Twins & Bonds, Percy's, Franconia Ridge, Northern Presi's with the summits above the clouds. Nippy & breezy on the summit.

Note re: Gale River Road -- nice bushwack route to the west of the washed out bridges; pretty simple, we just followed the watercourse until we used a narrow crossing of Scarface Brook and came back out on the road above bridge three (just right!).
