Date of Hike: Thur. 12-02-2010
Trail: Garfield Trail (Gale river loop road is still open - Construction vehicles are using it for the bridge repair)
Conditions: A dusting of snow to about 2" at the jct. with the Garfield Ridge Trail. Water crossings were easy with wet boots. Running water, ice, and slush in the trails. Micro-spikes went on at about 2500 ft. The summit cone had packed snow with some ice. The summit had a dusting of snow with glazed over ice on the rocks.
Great day out with J & J, Vinny C., Bruce P. Nice seeing Guy J. and Hiker Ed on the trail today.
Note: Haystack Rd. is still open. Sawyer River Rd. and Zealand Rd. were both gated as I drove pass today on my way home.
