trails: bike path, bushwack, skookumchuck trail, garfield ridge trail, franconia brook trail, twin brook trail, frost trail, gale river trail
conditions: walked up the bike path from the gallen bridge and hit the woods just after skookumchuck brook looking for the old route of the skookumchuck trail. went in a bit early so bushwacked to a snowmobile trail and then ran into the old route of the trail which shortly joined the current trail. trails were all wet today. lots of greasy ledge and rock. some mud, particularly on the gale river relocation. brook crossings not a problem.
equipment: nothing in particular.
comments: nice day. we were happy we went with this plan b trip once we got a taste of the weather higher up. a bit cold and windy with summits generally in the clouds. pretty as always in the 13 falls area. finally took the time to find the old garfield privy. thanks to jeremy for a great hike.
