The South entrance to Gale River loop road is closed, so you need to use 5 corner entrance and loop around. Looks like it may be a while before that changes. Water crossings were no problem. Trail has been eroded and there are lots of new gullys with loose rock debris. A fair amount of mud and water are on the trail so if you are one of those people who have to keep their feet dry, water proof boots might be handy. It was my 5 year olds first 4000 footer and she had a absolute blast. The summit was chilly with brisk winds but really a perfect day. Met quite a few thru hikers on top. The highlight for my kid was not the view of the pemi but playing inside the old fire tower foundation. Go figure!
