Trail Conditions: Road was hardpacked snow/ice. Then, first mile of trail was ice/bare dirt - I used crampons. Snow was pretty firm after that, and that's when I switched to snowshoes to the summit and back to the TH. The summit tracks are still off-trail (see earlier poster), and were a little hard to find. On the descent, I postholed with snowshoes in a few places; the sodden snow surface is quickly melting.
Special Equipment: I skied the road to the TH. Other than that, snowshoes worked pretty well.
Comments: Lots of dripping branches; woods were foggy and warmer than I was used to; no views from the top; saw nobody all day - a quiet walk of solitude in the woods!!!
