Route: out and back from Rt 9 on the LT/AT
Route is pretty dry and the Willomsuc River right at Rt 9 is barely flowing but certainly enough to take a dip and/or filter. Water is fairly scarce as of Saturday, with only Hell Hollow Brook and the piped spring at the Goddard Shelter source for reliable water. The trail is in good shape from the dryness, the mud bogs are dry and most of the trail is blowdown free, except for some inside the Wilderness area but they mostly have paths around them. Shelter seems to be in good shape, roof looks almost new.
I found a pair of fake Oakleys on the way down right by the Split Rock that is below Maple Hill and just about above the steep switchbacks on the trail which I put on the Kiosk at the trailhead.
