I started out in snowshoes on the ledge trail. Everything pretty frozen after the rain. About a mile up there is significant ice. I switched to crampons as I am short and solo and no one else has signed in for 2 days. Not a lot of hand holds either. Once beyond the ledges a return to snowshoes is possible. Descent towards Rocky has a couple icy patches in addition to the usual one. I actually broke out the ax. Lovely day. The approaching storm may change the conditions back to soft snow cover, but I'd be prepared for ice.
