I started out with some trepidation, being 75 years old and not having climbed anything big for 3 years. But the weather was perfect and not a black fly in sight. Not a single one for the whole day. And this in June! I like to do these in early June or September when the parking is plentiful, as it was this day. The signage looks like it was brand new, and most welcome. Oh yes, about that age thing: It turned out there was no problem at all and I made it up in 3 hours and down in 2 1/2, not that this was important. My one disappointment was the lack of birds. Except for the many Swainson's thrushes in one section, and the juncos, it was pretty quiet.
