Little snow and ice till end of open ridge, all steep ledges are completely bare, past the lookoot bump snow is much deeper, spine was solid but very narrow and easier to travel with stabalicers, either sides very soft snow offers no support at all. Snowshoes a must to RPR even though snow is melting fast, we heard and saw two avalanches on Giant slides.. noisy and scary... and another two above Chapel Pond, one on the way up just as we were looking at the view from the first lookout towards Round Mt. and the second about same place on the way down!!!
It was 80F on both summits, no snow, no bugs...
